In all the great spiritual teachings there is to be found the tradition of the Spiritual Companion.

This is someone who walks the path of life with another for a while, helping them to see more clearly.

This is accomplished through the practice of ancient methods.

Listening

In speaking our story out loud, we see it more clearly. We can often surprise ourselves with what is said. The Spiritual Companion deeply listens and creates an accepting, non-judgemental space where sharing can take place in confidence.

Questions

Often we cannot find the answer because we are asking the wrong question. The Spiritual Companion, having listened, may offer different questions that point to new horizons.

Recollection

In the pressure and confusion of the world we too easily lose the spiritual perspective. The Spiritual Companion reminds us that there is another way to see life.

Teaching

The world's great spiritual teachings each offer a pathway to realisation. The Spiritual Companion takes us deeper into the teachings to which we are drawn and, perhaps, draws our attention to other teachings which may be helpful

Enquiry

Many of us have long-standing questions about spiritual teachings and living the spiritual life, but have never had the opportunity to explore them with a knowledgeable friend. Perhaps we have felt that to have such questions is "wrong". The Spiritual Companion welcomes and encourages all questions.

Spiritual Practice

Committed spiritual practice is the heart of the spiritual life. We may be drawn to prayer, meditation, ritual or other such expressions. We may be struggling in the pressure of everyday life to commit ourselves to practice. The Spiritual Companion stands alongside, guiding and encouraging.
