Simon Small lives in Glastonbury UK with his wife, Jane, who is an accomplished artist (http://janesmallfineart.blogspot.com/). They have two grown-up sons.

The great passion of his life (apart from Jane) is exploring and sharing the awesome mystery of existence. In this quest he is inspired by the great spiritual traditions and the insights of science and philosophy.

Simon is a priest in the Church of England. But a rather unusual priest, who came to the Church after a long period exploring other spiritualities, particularly the eastern enlightenment traditions. This has left him with a great openness towards, and appreciation of, other spiritual teachings. It also led him to the inner path of contemplation and meditation, around which his life is based.

He is chaplain to the Abbey House  retreat centre in Glastonbury. He also works independently in the field of spirituality - writing books, leading retreats and seminars across the UK, and acting as a spiritual guide to individuals.

Before any of this he did proper jobs for twenty years, so boring that you really won't want to know the details.

His first book "From the Bottom of the Pond" , published in 2007, is a personal reflection on the mystical life within the Jesus tradition. It is still in print and selling well. It has been featured a number of times on national radio in the UK and has sold way beyond the boundaries of conventional religion.

"Star Pilgrim" is his second book. Since first learning to read as a child, he always wanted to write a novel. Fortunately, he never knew it would take another forty years. It is a coming together of his many years of spiritual exploration and his love of futuristic fiction. First and foremost, it is written to be a great story that anyone can enjoy. If the big ideas around which it is woven resonate, so much the better.
